The students in Mrs. Meier's 6th grade Social Studies class are creating their own theme parks based on the region of Asia that they were assigned.
Some of their rides include: Mount Fuji's Fury, The Oil Slide, Himalayan Heights, Landslide, Silly Pandas, Ural Mountains of Doom, and Monsoon Madness.
They also have restaurants in their parks such as: The Lamb Shack, Sushi Slicer, Make your own Sushi Shack, and Nutritious Noodles.
Finally, the theme parks offer attractions for non-riders, such as zoos featuring Asian elephants, tigers, and pandas, kabob making and sushi rolling classes, Kimono dress shops, Make your own Babushka dolls, mountain hikes, tubing down The Yangtze River, and tours of The Great Wall of China.
These pictures show a few of their Park Maps.
They are also making slideshows that describe their attractions and rides, and commercials that they will present in class.
It is fun to see their creativity and fantastic ideas.

A huge thank you goes out to Sam Mayer, a 2011 St. Charles graduate for speaking to our students today at Academic Awards. Sam spoke of how life goes by in a blink of an eye, life comes at you fast and a never-ending change of plans. Sam emphasized don't be discouraged when things don't work out as you planned. Things change, be flexible, and be dynamic, because at the end of the day what is going to get you through it is hard work and the goal to succeed. Thank you Sam!!!!

Congratulations to the St. Charles Middle/High School students who were honored today for their academic success. All students 3.0 and above attended the annual Academic Awards Ceremony. Class of "2026" recipients received a letter, the Class of "2025" received a bronze medal, the Class of "2024" received a silver medal, and the Class of "2023" received a gold medal.
