*A message from the family of David Larsen*
October 13th, at 7:00 pm, Merrill is hosting the bulldogs of St Charles. This game will be played in memory of my dad, David Larsen. He spent his high school years playing football for Merrill and years teaching and coaching at St. Charles. The last few years, he has spent some of his nights watching his grandson, Landin, play for the Vandals.
We lost my dad on May 20th of this year. We know he will be up there smiling ear to ear, watching his two favorite teams play against each other in his memory. Please consider coming out to watch the game!! Nichole A. Martinez is a rockstar and will be making t-shirts for 20, crewnecks for 30, and hoodies for 35 for the game played in Dad's memory. Nichole has a cash app, Venmo, Apple Pay, and Zelle. If you want to buy a shirt, please message her for that info.
This is also for St. Charles people. Please comment or message me to let me know if you’re interested!
Again, thank you in advance-
Louann Larsen, David Larsen, Brian LaJoice, Kaelin Lajoice, Landin Lajoice, and Rebecca Zimmerman.
Thank you to Louann Larsen and daughters, Bridgette (Brian) LaJoice of Merrill; and Julie (Rebecca) Zimmerman of Saginaw; for donating this beautiful sitting area in honor of David Larsen. David began a 34-year career with the St. Charles Community School, including their sports program, where he had the opportunity of a lifetime to mentor countless athletes throughout his lifetime. Known as "Coach," he used his love of sports to serve the school district, coaching middle school track, middle school boys' and girls' basketball, varsity cross country, and his greatest success - high school girl’s track and field. He was proud of his athletes' achievements which included multiple school record holders, state qualifiers, and state champions. David was a devoted husband, father, and papa. He loved his family very much. David was a 1973 graduate of Merrill High School. Throughout school, David excelled in all sports, especially in baseball, basketball, and track, and as the quarterback of the varsity football team. Following graduation, David attended Hillsdale College and then transferred to Saginaw Valley State University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education. We will dedicate this area to David Larsen on Friday, October 6, between the 1st-2nd quarters with a moment of silence
ATTENTION 7th and 8th GRADE VOLLEYBALL FANS! The 7th grade will be playing first today, October 4, and next Wednesday, October 11, and the 8th grade will play second.
