The St. Charles Elementary Chess Club has recently opened its doors to 5th-grade students in Mr. Rousseau's classroom. The club provides an opportunity for over 20 students, regardless of their experience levels, to enhance their skills as chess players and appreciate this timeless game of strategy, mental sharpness, and wit. The club meets every Friday after school and complements the students' educational experiences. Thanks to the generosity of several staff members, every pair of students has their own board to play on. Mr. Rousseau expressed his gratitude to everyone who made this club a reality. We would like to give a big thank you to Mr. Connor Rousseau for offering this wonderful opportunity to the students.

On Wednesday, February 7th, students in grades 9-12 had the opportunity to take part in a Reality Check. Students were given a career with a breakdown of the monthly salary of the career. Students then had to stop at six different tables. Each table represented a different "Reality" of the real world. The different tables included housing, transportation, savings, unexpected expenses, loans and credit cards, and family. Thank you to our staff and community volunteers who spent time with our students.
